Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons

I’m so excited! I love this book! And if you want your child to learn to read words and sentences and learn a little vocabulary and comprehension too, buy this book today!

I will walk you through the steps but your child is going to need a copy themselves. This book is based on the successful Elementary School Reading Curriculum Reading Mastery and I have seen it work in many classrooms and have talked to so many teachers that agree this program really teaches students of all reading levels and abilities to read using a systematic approach. What I love most about this program is that it teaches long vowels and short vowels right out of the gate.

They use the DISTAR alphabet which has 38 sounds using individual letters and letter combinations. And the students are not using these at the end.

An hour a day

I DO believe that you want to set aside an hour a day not just 20 minutes. 20 minutes will cover the decoding and phonics skills and will help your child gain confidence in figuring out words but there is much more to a comprehensive English Language Arts program then just phonics. Students need to be able to express their ideas and opinions through speaking and writing and now video presentations! They need to be able to critically analyze text, and build their vocabularies. But this book will increase any students text fluency.
